Dalat Hiking & Lang Biang Mountain Guide

Updated 2026 · By the Dalat App community

Dalat sits in pine-covered highlands at 1,500m, and the hiking is one of the best reasons to slow down here. Lang Biang is the classic first climb, but there's a lot more once you look at the topo map — ridgelines, coffee-farm trails and quiet pine forest, all a short ride from the centre.

Lang Biang Mountain

The signature hike. Two peaks (Radar and Lang Biang proper), pine forest most of the way, and a viewpoint over the whole Dalat basin at the top. Two ways up:

Go early morning for the best light and to beat both the heat and the afternoon cloud that can roll in and block the view.

Other trails worth knowing about

Plan your hike with local help

Ask about current trail conditions, book a guide for the deeper routes, or just get pointed in the right direction — the same community that keeps this map updated is active in the Dalat App community chat.

What to bring

Best time to hike

Dry season (roughly November–April) gives the clearest views and driest trails. In the rainy season, mornings are usually your best window before afternoon downpours — see our guide to Dalat's weather and seasons.

FAQ

How hard is Lang Biang?

Moderate — about 500m of elevation gain, 2–3 hours up on foot, or take the jeep road if you'd rather skip the climb.

Do I need a guide?

Not for the main Lang Biang trail. For deeper forest or canyoning-adjacent routes, a local guide is safer and sometimes required.

What should I pack?

Grippy shoes, a light rain layer, water, sun protection, and a headlamp if you might be out near dusk.
